A World of Shifting
Colors & Light

I try to evoke a meditative effect for viewers to slow down, breathe and wander through a world of shifting colors and delicate textures. Rather than depicting a specific scene, I try to bring out sensations — the feeling of calm of early morning light, the tenderness of a memory, the hush of nature in transition.

An atmosphere of perpetual motion alive with shifting colors and filtered light.

The technique I use to create these effects are feathered brushstrokes that drift together to create a weightless and expansive effect — like a breeze carrying birds through the air.

I use many layers of acrylic paint that I mix with gel medium to bring the deeper jewel tones into shadow and then thicker paint to bring forward the lighter shades to allow the paint to drift in and out of the surface.

A living surface that has a pulse, a rhythm we can jump into and be part of.
